Since joining Advantage Capital Partners in 1999, Tate Garrett has invested $40 million in 14 Florida private companies and has held seven Board seats. His most promising investments include AuthenTec, Inc. and Pasteuria Bioscience, LLC.

 

Prior to joining Advantage, Tate purchased the assets of a failed manufacturing firm, resurrected the company over a three-year period, and then sold the successful business. Prior to that, Tate was a strategy and operations consultant for major financial and telecommunications firms.

 

Tate holds a Computer Science degree from Yale University and an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Tate serves on the Advisory Boards for the StarTec business accelerator, and is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Tampa Bay Technology Forum. Tate is also an avid choral singer, and the immediate past Board Chairman of the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay.
