John
M. McDonald III,
Mr. McDonald is a Managing Director and a co-founder of Hyde Park Capital Partners, LLC. At Hyde Park, Mr. McDonald originates, executes and manages private equity and debt placements, mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions and general financial advisory engagements. Prior to founding Hyde Park in January 2000, Mr. McDonald was a Managing Director of the Investment Banking Healthcare Technology/Life Sciences Group at Raymond James & Associates, Inc. Mr. McDonald worked within this group since 1994 and executed numerous transactions within the biotechnology, medical device, e-health and healthcare service industries. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. McDonald led the equipment leasing investment banking effort at Raymond James. In this capacity he raised and managed over $100 million in equity and debt capital for four capital equipment leasing funds. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. McDonald was employed by IBM Corporation and Motorola, Inc. While at IBM, Mr. McDonald worked as a mechanical engineer on the design team for IBM's initial personal computer products which included the PC, PC-XT, PC-AT and PS2 Series. At Motorola, Mr. McDonald worked as a mechanical engineer on the design team for the world's first consumer cellular telephone which was launched in the fall of 1983. Mr. McDonald holds a B.S.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the Duke University School of Engineering where he graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Tau Beta Pi honorary. In addition, Mr. McDonald holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. McDonald holds Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 securities licenses. Mr. McDonald serves on the Board of Trustees for the Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, FL and also on the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
