William G. Marshall, Jr., MD, MS, MBA
Dr. Marshall is the Vice-Chair for Finance and Administration, Department of Psychiatry and Associate Professor, Departments of Surgery and Psychiatry at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and a Medical Director of the USF Practice Group. He is Director of the Scholarly Concentration in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Business at the MCOM and developed and manages the USF MCOM Business of Medicine Bootcamp. He is also a faculty advisor to the USF MCOM B.R.I.D.G.E. Healthcare Clinic.
He is Assistant Director for the Technology Entrepreneurship Program and the USF Center for Entrepreneurship where he teaches Ethics of Innovation & Technology, Principles of Intellectual Property, and Development of a Fundable Business in the award-winning USF Technology Entrepreneurship Masters Degree Program, which he co-developed. Dr. Marshall has taught in the award-winning Technology Entrepreneurship Masters Degree Program, in the Colleges of Medicine and Business, and in the USF Honors College over the last 10 years.
Dr. Marshall attended Johns Hopkins University and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (General Surgery) and the University of Iowa (Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery). He practiced cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery and critical care for more than twenty years and founded and managed his own successful surgical practice. Dr. Marshall completed his MBA and his Master’s Degree in Technology Entrepreneurship at USF and was the inaugural USF/Kauffman Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow in Life Sciences.
Dr. Marshall has managed his own consulting company (now M&B Associates, LLC) in the areas of technology assessment, intellectual property assessment, clinical peer review, basic, translational, and clinical research, and venture start-up since 2004.
